Judge Thomas McHill

Judge Thomas McHill was elected to the Linn County Circuit Court bench in November 2010 after a 29 year career as an attorney in Lebanon.  For 22 years, Judge McHill was the Lebanon City Attorney, where he represented the City in various matters.  His practice also included civil litigation, domestic relations cases and criminal defense.  Judge McHill took office in January 2011.

 

A graduate of Willamette University, Judge McHill received his Juris Doctor from the University of Puget Sound School Of Law, now the Seattle University School of Law.   Judge McHill is a longtime resident of Lebanon.  He served on the Lebanon Community School Board from 1999 until 2007.  He is a member of the Rotary Club of Albany and was Lebanon's Junior First Citizen for 1992 and Lebanon's Man of the Year for 2010.  In May 2016, Judge McHill was reelected for his second term as a Linn County Circuit Judge.  Since September 2011, he has presided over the Linn County Drug Court in addition to his other assignments as one of Linn County's five elected Circuit Court Judges.   Judge McHill was appointed by Chief Justice Thomas Balmer as presiding judge for the Linn County Circuit Court as of May 1, 2018.
