Protective Orders

There are several different types of protective orders:

Getting a protective Order in Douglas County

Forms: Assistance with paperwork is available at 7:30 A.M.; Monday through Friday. Forms must be filed with the court in Room 201 by 8:30 A.M. to be heard that same day.
 
Location for assistance: Meet with Battered Persons Advocacy at the Courthouse Cafeteria located on the 2nd floor of the Justice Building.
 
Hearings for all types of protective orders are usually held at 9:00 A.M. Monday – Friday. Battered Persons Advocacy will accompany you to the hearing.

Protective order forms may also be obtained in the Family Law Resource Center at the Douglas County Courthouse in Room 201.

Battered Person’s Advocacy can assist you with protective & stalking orders.
 
Legal Aid Services of Oregon provides free legal assistance to low-income individuals. Legal Aid Services of Oregon (LASO) provides assistance in family law matters to victims of domestic violence and or sexual assault. LASO does not assist with initiating restraining orders, but can assist Petitioners if the restraining or is contested. Generally, LASO does not assist Respondents in restraining orders. LASO can assist on stalking orders and elder and disabled abuse prevention orders. Please call 541-673-1181 for more information.
