Douglas County Circuit Court is committed to providing fair, accessible, and timely justice to promote the rule of law, protect individual’s rights, and resolve conflicts.

With our state of the art computer technologies we hope to:

  • Improve the quality of courtroom litigation
  • Reduce litigant costs
  • Improve access to justice
  • Increase courtroom security
  • Strengthen public trust & confidence

Courtroom technologies and services are available to parties without cost, subject to the following conditions:

  • Advanced scheduling 5 business days prior to hearing and availability of the equipment.
  • Compliance with all technology requirements of private equipment.
  • Please contact judicial staff to be referred to the Technology department (IT).

Wi-Fi Access

OJD Guest Wi-Fi provided by the Oregon Judicial Department has limited speed. The court does not provide technical, software or other support services to any user.

Videoconference System

To request an appearance at a hearing via video, the appropriate filing must be submitted to the court at least 5 business days prior to the hearing. If requesting a video appearance from the Department of Corrections (DOC) location, please note that in your filing and provide the facility name and inmate’s SID/DOC number.

  • If the request is granted for a DOC location, court staff will facilitate setting up and testing the video connection.
  • For all other approved appearances by video, contact court staff at least 5 business days prior to hearing.

Please provide the following information:

  • Name of person to appear via video
  • Case number
  • Contact person
  • IP address
  • Requesting party name
  • Date and time of appearance

Court staff will put you in touch with the Technology department to schedule a time for testing. A successful test must be performed prior to the hearing. The court allows only outgoing calls to your IP address for video conferencing.

Telephone Conferencing

  • All requests to appear for a hearing via telephone must be pre-approved by a judge.
  • A calling card must be presented for long distance calls made from the courtroom.
  • If more than two parties will be attending a hearing telephonically, it is preferred, when possible, the parties conference call together prior to calling into the courtroom.
  • The party requesting the telephonic hearing can provide a conference call for all parties, including the court, to dial into for the hearing. The number must be provided to the court at the time the hearing request is made to the court.
  • We have two bridge lines available that can accommodate up to 13 callers plus courtroom. Advanced scheduling at least 5 business days prior to hearing is required.

Computer Connectivity and other Audio Visual

  • Each courtroom has a ceiling mounted projector and 6.5 ft by 9.5 ft wall mounted screen.
  • Laptop accessible VGA or HDMI to projector. It is the responsibility of the parties to arrange at least 5 business days prior to the hearing a time for testing the equipment . Contact court staff to schedule the time for testing.
  • We have available for use 2 ELMO computer projector units. These are available upon request. To reserve, please contact court staff at least 5 business days prior to hearing. *NOTE* required connection VGA or DVI only.
  • Each courtroom has a wall mounted 55" TV and Polycom HDX 9004 unit. Connection to TV is available with VGA or HDMI for screen resolution of 1024x768. It is the responsibility of the parties to arrange at least 5 days prior to the hearing time for testing of equipment. Contact court staff to schedule a time for testing.
  • The court can accommodate a laptop for courtroom presentations connected to our projector via VGA or HDMI. If you have a DVD or Power Point presentation that has audio, please bring speakers for your laptop.
  • Sound check your sound card when connected to our projector. If there is an issue with audio, you will need to use your speakers or update your drivers for the presentation.
  • IPad can be used for presentation. You will need to provide a VGA or HDMI adapter and test prior to hearing.
  • *NOTE* any electronic evidence submitted must be on a Windows media format (Windows media player). The courts are unable to download any software for review of evidence.
