We are pleased to announce that work is complete on increasing security at the courthouse.  

  • Starting September 15th the only entrance to the courthouse will be on the Duane street side, lower level
  • Please arrive early as anyone who enters the courthouse will go through security screening.

Many matters can be handled by email, phone or video.  You can call 503-325-8555 or email us (see our contact page for email addresses) to see if a visit to the courthouse is necessary. 

Non-evidentiary hearings will generally be held by Webex video. Evidentiary hearings will generally be held in person. Check your hearing notice to see if your hearing will be in person or by video. If your hearing is remote and you have not received a Webex invitation by email, please call us at 503-325-8555 and select option “0" for immediate assistance.

*The court is closed on state holidays and from 4pm to 5pm on the first Wednesday of every month for a team meeting.

The Clatsop County Circuit Court is the 18th Judicial District of Oregon. Clatsop County's judicial district has three elected judges:

  • Judge Beau Peterson, Presiding Judge
  • Judge Dawn McIntosh, Circuit Court Judge
  • Judge Kirk Wintermute, Circuit Court Judge

The court is housed in an historic courthouse which was built in 1908 and was later added to the National Register of Historic Places. Astoria was the first permanent United States settlement on the Pacific coast and is historically significant for operating the first U.S. post office west of the Rocky Mountains.
