Traffic School Diversion Program for Traffic Violations

road over the mountainsThe Traffic School Diversion Program is a Traffic Course that may, if eligible, result in the dismissal of minor traffic violations in lieu of a conviction on your record – court approval must be obtained.

  • Local Traffic School (for those residing within 70 miles of La Grande, Oregon)
  • Online Traffic School (for those residing more than 70 miles from La Grande, Oregon) 

Eligibility
(Citations cited into Union County Circuit Court only)

Eligibility is determined based on the type of violation you were cited for, prior moving violation  convictions within the last 3 years and any prior participation in a traffic school program within the last 3 years.

  • Some violations will require further Judge approval prior to participation in this program
  • Traffic School is not available for citations for going 100mph or greater, for reckless driving, or any other driving offenses including, but not limited to, Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver, Attempt to Elude and/or Driving While Suspended.
  • This program is not available to anyone possessing a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

  • If your motor vehicle record for the last 3 years is not within the State of Oregon you will be required to submit a copy of your 3 year motor vehicle record along with a letter requesting the traffic school program for the court to determine your eligibility.
  • Participation in any traffic school program without approval from this court will not be considered.
