COURT SERVICES ARE REDUCED AND/OR MODIFIED TO COMPLY WITH SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS
Pursuant to Presiding Judge Order 2021-01, beginning March 12, 2021 and continuing until further order of the court, court operations are continuing with remote services or postponed hearings as defined in the Lane COVID-19 Operations Plan (updated 3/12/2021).
Additionally, Presiding Judge Order 2021-02, beginning April 8, 2021 and continuing until further ordered, requires any person over 2 years old person entering the courthouse to wear a face covering. Exemptions must be granted by the Presiding Judge.
Furthermore, Presiding Judge Order 2020-06, beginning July 6, 2020 and continuing until further ordered, modifies juvenile operations seperately from standard operations as defined in the Lane Juvenile COVID-19 Operations Plan.

Lane County’s first official courthouse was built in 1855 at the corner of Eighth and Oak streets. The original wooden building stood until 1898, when it was replaced with a brick courthouse that featured a bell tower. The present courthouse was built on the same location in 1959.
Planning for a new Lane County Courthouse is underway. The Lane County Justice Center website provides details about the project.
