Text Message Hearing Notifications

Overview

Person holding a cell phoneThe Oregon Judicial Department is excited to announce the rollout of text message hearing reminders and updates for parties across the state. This free service is aimed at providing convenient reminders with the goal of reducing the number of people who fail to appear in Oregon’s Circuit Courts and Tax Court.

Text hearing notifications will be rolled out across the state in 2021. Once this service is available, if your cell phone number is associated with a Circuit Court or Tax Court case, you will receive text message hearing notifications in all non-confidential cases where you are party. Providing your cell phone number to the court will allow you to receive hearing reminders (provided 7 days and 1 day before your court hearing) and updates to upcoming hearings (such as scheduled, rescheduled, or cancelled hearings).

How to Sign up for Text Message Hearing Notifications

After a court’s “Go-Live” date (see Rollout Schedule on this page), you may contact the court to sign up for this free service. You will need to provide your cell phone number and your court case number(s) to court staff, who will send an initial message to your cell phone. Once you receive that message you are officially signed-up to receive court hearing reminders and updates.

After the “Go-Live” date, if the court already has your cell phone number, you will automatically receive reminders for upcoming hearing dates and notifications when a hearing on your court case is scheduled, rescheduled, or cancelled. You can respond “No” to any of these messages to stop future messages related to that case from being sent to your cell phone number.

All messages and hearing notifications will be sent from the following phone numbers:

503-386-0303
503-386-0368
503-386-0611
503-386-0645
503-386-0674
503-386-0743
503-386-0812

Please refer to the FAQs if you have multiple cases or if you would like more detailed information about this new service.
