Remote Hearings

Remote Hearings Information

Coos and Curry County Circuit Court have resources available to help court parties attend certain hearings remotely. If you have not been notified by the court or your attorney that your matter is to be heard remotely it will be heard in-person at the courthouse. Parties requesting to appear remotely shall file their request for remote appearance with the designated court location at least two (2) business days prior to your hearing.

Cisco WebEx – Telephonic/Video Conferencing

Coos and Curry County are utilizing CISCO WebEx for most remote hearings. If your court matter has been set for a remote hearing, via telephone or video conference, you will be provided information by the court or your attorney on how to access this hearing. If you do not receive this information at least one (1) business day before your hearing you should contact the court.

Submitting Exhibits for Remote Hearings

Exhibits (documentary and non-documentary) shall be submitted to the court in advance of any remote trial or hearing. Documentary and non-documentary exhibits shall be submitted as required by UTCR 6.080 and by 5:00 PM at least two (2) court days prior to the date of the remote hearing or trial. The party offering the exhibits is required to share their exhibit(s) during the remote hearing or trial. To share/offer exhibits (documentary or non-documentary), the application must be opened on your computer or device. Once opened, select Share from the event control panel.

A window will appear with a list of open programs and content that can be shared from your device. Select the content you wish to share and then select share to start. Note: If sharing audio/video (non-documentary exhibits) when you select share adjust the drop-down menu in the share screen (upper left of the share screen) by selecting “optimize for motion and video”. For documentary exhibits no adjustment is needed.

When sharing content, the WebEx toolbar will dock/attached or appear at the top of your screen.

     1. Select Stop Sharing to stop sharing content
     2. Select Pause to pause your share
     3. Select Share to select new content
     4. Select Unmute Me to control your audio
     5. Select Stop Video to control your video

Troubleshooting
If you find that your device is not compatible or you are unable to access the videoconference, you may use the phone number provided in your instructions to join by phone (no video) at the time of the hearing or contact the Court.
