Conservatorship Audit Program

Conservatorship Auditing Program

The Conservatorship Audit Program (CAP) is designed to assist courts in understanding and assessing guardianship and conservatorship case filings.  The program helps to establish improved processes for circuit courts to review conservators' accountings and other pleadings and reports filed by court-appointed fiduciaries under ORS Chapter 125.  CAP performs audits on the more complex cases when judges request auditor assistance.  The purpose of reviews and audits is to provide judges with supplemental information to help determine whether court appointed fiduciaries are meeting their obligations to protected persons and to the courts as required by state law.

The program is operated by OJD's Court Programs Division and is an internal department resource for judges and probate court staff.
