Model Court Teams

Model Court Teams
Model Court Teams are collaborative, court-led groups that bring together local partners to improve outcomes for children, youth, and families involved in juvenile justice and child welfare proceedings. These teams typically include judges, court staff, child welfare agencies, juvenile departments, attorneys, and other professionals who work together on locally driven projects supported by statewide resources.

Our Role in Supporting Model Court Teams
Juvenile Court Programs partners with local courts to help Model Court Teams identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions. Our goal is to empower teams with the tools, guidance, and support they need to strengthen collaboration and enhance outcomes for children, youth, and families. Whether you’re launching a new team or revitalizing an existing one, we provide resources on best practices, project planning, and data-driven decision-making to help your team succeed.

Some examples of the support we provide include:

  • Tailored Assistance: Help with launching or revitalizing teams and setting clear goals.
  • Best Practices: Access to proven strategies and emerging approaches for system improvement.
  • Project Resources: Templates and ideas to plan and implement effective initiatives.
  • Data Support: Guidance on finding, analyzing, and using data.

Why Model Court Teams Matter
These teams foster collaboration, innovation, and accountability at the local level, ensuring that courts and system partners work together to create positive, lasting change for Oregon’s youth and families.
