Volunteering at Washington County Circuit Court

Washington County Circuit Court is recruiting volunteers to help staff our information counter and help with our jury check in every morning.  This is an excellent customer service opportunity, complementing the efforts of the circuit court employees.

The Washington County Circuit Court is a general jurisdiction trial court, responsible for civil, criminal, and family cases.

The information counter helps approximately 70,500 people in a year and approximately 12,400 people actually serve on jury duty in our county in a year.

·         Direct court customers to the appropriate courtrooms or offices.
·         Answer and redirect calls from the court’s incoming phone line.
·         Use the court’s case register application to look up basic case information for court customers.
·         Assemble and mail court notices.
·         Help the jury coordinator check in jurors

The Information counter volunteers are assigned a minimum of 2 days per month for a period of 6 months.  After 6 months, the commitment may be extended at the request of the volunteer and the discretion of the court.

The working hours are 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
