About Us

Josephine County is located in Southwestern Oregon, along the I-5 corridor. Our economy, once an almost solely timber community, now consists of a mixture of light manufacturing, secondary wood products, retail, trade, tourism, recreation and service-based industries. The county population is over 81,000, in an area of 1640 sq. miles. Here Redwood Highway ends its journey from the Golden Gate Bridge, near San Francisco, to meet up with I-5 inland. The Rogue River’s Wild and Scenic section starts here and is world renowned for its white water boating. Grants Pass is the largest community in Josephine County, with the communities of Cave Junction, Merlin, Murphy, Selma, Williams and Wolf Creek to name a few of the others spread throughout the county.

Josephine County Circuit Court, 14th Judicial District, sits in Grants Pass, the seat of county government, and is located in the County Courthouse, at 500 NW 6th Street, Grants Pass, OR, 97526. The Circuit Court provides service to all of the citizens of Josephine County and to others who have a need for judicial services within the county.
