ORDER NO. 03-030 ORDER ADOPTING DR 2-105 |
Pursuant to ORS 9.490, the Oregon State Bar Board of Governors referred to the House of Delegates of the Oregon State Bar a proposed new rule amending the Oregon Code of Professional Responsibility. The House of Delegates, at its meeting on October 5, 2002, approved the rule.
At its public meeting on November 13, 2002, the Court considered and adopted the proposed addition of DR 2-105.
IT HEREBY IS ORDERED that the addition of Oregon Code of Professional Responsibility DR 2-105 is approved, as set out below, effective with the date of this order.
DR 2-105 Compensation from Nonlawyers
A lawyer shall not refer a client to a nonlawyer with the understanding that the lawyer will receive a fee, commission, or anything of value in exchange for the referral, but a lawyer may accept gifts in the ordinary course of social or business hospitality.
